Już od jakiegoś czasu chcieliśmy napisać o Jaśkowej szermierce. Niestety, nikt z naszej rodziny nie zna się na tym lepiej od niego więc czekaliśmy na to aż Jaś poczuje się na tyle dobrze, że opowie o swojej pasji własnymi słowami. I dziś nadarzyła się taka sytuacja. Jaś świetnie czuł się po dzisiejszych naświetlaniach. Ba, nawet po raz kolejny w tym tygodniu sam ułożył się do zabiegu! Po radioterapii, w drodze do Natalii, do Kobyłki, w końcu mogłam z nim porozmawiać. Dopisywał mu świetny humor a jak zaczął mi nawijać o walkach i szpadach to nie mógł przestać ?
-Jasiu a pamiętasz jak to się wszystko zaczęło?
-Pamiętam, że jak byłem mały to oglądałem z tatą Trzech Muszkieterów i bardzo mi się podobało jak oni walczyli.
Jasiu miał wtedy chyba 4 czy 5 lat i miał obsesję na punkcie muszkieterów. Rodzice prowadzili francuski market budowlany i nad kominkiem w domu wisiały dwie prawdziwe szpady ? Jasiowi aż świeciły się oczy jak na nie patrzył. Nie było wątpliwości za kogo Jasiu przebierze się na bal karnawałowy do przedszkola tamtego roku? Na salę zapelnioną księżniczkami i spidermanami wparował przeuroczy mały muszkieter. I to z prawdziwą szpadą! Co prawda większą od niego, i bez pomocy taty nie mógł w ogóle podnieść jej z ziemi, ale i tak wszyscy chcieli sobie robić z nim wtedy zdjęcia ?
–Tata wtedy powiedział mi, że jest taki sport-szermierka właśnie, i że mnie zapisze jak będę miał 11 lat. Ale potem się okazało, że w Drzonkowie jest klub szermierki, i że też trenują takie małe dzieci, no i zacząłem tam chodzić jak miałem 7 lat.
– I co, podobało Ci się?
-Ja tego nie pamiętam, ale rodzice mówią, że po pierwszych treningach płakałem i nie chiałem już chodzić bo cały czas przegrywałem. Ale potem zacząłem wygrywać i zaczęło mi się podobać.
-A jak wygląda taki trening?
– Wszyscy walczą ze wszystkimi, nawet chłopaki z dziewczynami. I młodsi ze starszymi. Walczymy z trenerami.
-A wygrałeś kiedyś z trenerem?
-(śmiech) Raz z trenerem Cygańskim wygrałem. Dla mnie to była walka, ale dla niego raczej zabawa, ale po jakimś czasie zacząłem go rozwalać i musiał się trochę bardziej wysilić. Chyba na końcu był remis.
-A jaka jest twoja taktyka?
-Nie mam chyba takiej taktyki. Ja głównie obserwuję przeciwnika a potem wygrywam z nim jego własną bronią.
– W twoim pokoju regał ugina się pod pucharami i medalami. Wiesz, że mąż Karoliny- Michał (serdecznie pozdrawiamy!) specjalnie pojechał i je ułożył na biurku i porobił piękne zdjęcia? Jakieś szczególne zawody zapadły Ci w pamięć?
– Moje pierwsze zawody to była Szpada z Gwiazdką. Miałem wtedy 7 lat. Tam był taki chłopak co wygrywał ze wszystkimi i przed walką powiedział mi: Szykuj się na śmierć. I ja z nim wygrałem! A on się popłakał. Ale potem przegrałem z taką małą dziewczynką ? Ale zawody, które lubię najbardziej to Wratislavia Challenge, bo to są takie wielkie międzynarodowe zawody i szermierze przyjeżdzają tam z całego świata, np. z U.S.A. i Afryki i wszyscy się ze sobą lubią i śmieją…a potem napierniczają na planszy ?
– A pamiętasz jakieś konkretne walki?
-Tak! Najładniejszą walkę stoczyłem w Tarnowie, zająłem wtedy trzecie miejsce. Walczyłem wtedy z kolegą z Wadowic ostatnią rundę i było 4-3 dla niego. Ostatnie 15 sekund walki, wszyscy krzyczą, a ja zrobiłem zwykły rzut- prosta ręka i biegnę i wygrałem! Był remis! Potem było losowanie priorytetu. Priorytet to taka 1 minutowa dogrywka. Ten kto wylosuje priorytet to wygrywa walkę jak nikt nie zdobędzie punktu. No i on wylosował, więc bardzo się zasmuciłem. I do ostatnich sekund żaden z nas nie trafił i znowu wszyscy krzyczą co mam zrobić i ja znowu zrobiłem rzut i wygrałem! ? A najdalej w zawodach w kwalifikacji pucharowej zaszedłem jak zdobyłem 2 miejsce w Pucharze Gryfka w Szczecinie.
-No jak to, a jak zostałeś mistrzem Województwa Lubuskiego?
-Te zawody nie były punktowane. No i zaczęły się o 9 rano i mój główny przeciwnik, Wojtek, się na nie spóźnił. Dlatego wygrałem, bo ogrywałem tych gorszych zawodników.
-A to ten Wojtek jest taki dobry?
-Tak, jest lepszy ode mnie, ale on też trenuje z pięcioboistami a ja wtedy nie mogłem chodzić na te treningi. Tam się walczy ze starszymi. Jak rodzice powiedzieli, że będą mnie zawozić też w czwartki, to właśnie się okazało że mam tego guza.

-Tak, i wtedy będę trzy razy lepszy niż teraz!
-Dobra, to powiedz mi jeszcze na koniec z czego się słada strój szermierza?
-Ale wszystko z detalami?
-Tak! Od góry, od maski.
-No dobra to maska, potem plastron- to to z rękawem na jedną rękę, tam przechodzi przewód. Potem jest mundurek- ta bluza, spodnie, skarpetki i buty. Na uzbrojonej ręce jest jeszcze rękawica, druga ręka jest łysa. No i przewód, zależnie od ręki, czy ktoś jest prawo- czy leworęczny.
-No i szpada.
-Tak, opowiedzieć Ci o szpadzie?
-Tak, jaką walczysz?
-Ja walczę szpadą długą. Na początku jest rączka, tam gdzie się trzyma. I są dwa typy: belgijski i francuski. Belgijską rączkę tak jakby zaciska się w pięści a francuska jest zupełnie prosta.
-Tak jak w muszkieterach?
-Tak ? Nad rączką jest kosz, to jest taka miseczka co ochrania dłoń w środku. Tam też jest gniazdo, w które wpina się naciąg (ten przewód). No i potem jest klinga, czyli to długie ostrze, i tam na samym czubku jest punta, taka nakładka. Punta składa się z grzybka i sprężynki i jeszcze czegoś, nie pamiętam. To tamtędy przepływa impuls elektryczny jak się kogoś trafi. Szermierz jest podłączony do bębna, ale o tym więcej Ci nie powiem, bo nie wiem jak to działa.

For some time we wanted to write about Jasius fencing. Unfortunately none of us knows this topic better than he does, so we were waiting until he feels good enough to tell You about his passion by himself. And today it happened! Jasiu felt really well after radiation treatment today. So well that he layed down by himself on this special bed in the bunker again this week. After the radiotherapy, on the way to Natalias house in Kobylka, i could finally talk to him. He was in a great mood and when he started to talk about matches and épées (swords) he couldn’t stop 😀
– Jasiu do You remember how it all started?
-I remember, that when I was small, I watched Three Musketeers with dad and i loved the way they were fighting.
Jasiu was 4, maybe 5 years old back then, and was obsessed with musketeers. Our parents had back then a french “home and garden” store and at home, above the fireplace, we had two real swords hanging. Jasius eyes shined up everytime he looked at them. It was no surprise that that year he chose to dress as a musketeer for carneval ball at the kindergarden. Among all the princesses and spidermans, a really cute little musketeer appeared. And with a real sabre! ..a bit bigger than he was himself, and he needed help to get it up from the floor, but still! Everyone wanted to take photos with him, and the sword 😀
– Dad told me about this sport that is called fencing, and that i can attend when I will be 11 years old. But then we discovered that in near Zielona Gora there is a fencing club and even small kids can train. So I started going there when I was 7.
-And did You like it?
-I don’t remember so clearly, but parents said that after the first trainings I was crying a lot, and wanted to stop because I was losing all the time. But then I started to win, and then I liked it more.
– How does fencing training look like?
– Everyone is fighting everyone. Even girls and boys are fighting. And coaches too.
– Did You win with Your couch?
-(hahaha)Well, once, with couch Cyganski. For me it was a fight, for him more like fun. But after some time i started to win, and he had to make more effort. I think it was a tie at the end.
– And what is Your tactic?
-I don’t think I have one, really. I mostly observe my enemy and then I win against him with his own style.
– In Your room, the shelf is full of cups and medals. Do You remember some competition that was really special for You?
-My first fight. It was Christmas fencing competition. I was 7 years old. And there was this guy who was winning over everyone and just before our fight he said: Prepare for death! And I won over him! And he started crying. But just after that i lost to some small girl :D. But the competition I like the most is Wratislavia Challenge, becuse it’s a huge international competition. Fencers come from all over the world, even U.S.A and Africa. Everyone laughs and jokes around and likes each other…and then we smash each other on piste (which is a fencing area).
– And do you remember any special fights?
-Yes! My most beautiful fight i had in Tarnow, where i took a second place. I was fighting with a friend from Wadowice and in the last round there was 4-3 for him. It was the last 15 seconds of the match, everyone is shouting, and i made a very simple move- just threw myself at him and won! It was a draw and then we had to do a play-off. During play off we draw a priority, the one with the priority wins when no points are taken during play-off. And he got it, which made me sad. And the when we fought I got a point at the last seconds again! 😀 And the furthest I got in the competitions were in Szczecin during Gryfek Cup, i won 2nd position then.
-And what about Your championship of Lubuskie region?
-Yeah, but this competition didnt count in national qualifications. The competition started at 9 am and my main competitor, Wojtek, was late! This is why I won, because I won agains all the worse fencers.
– So this Wojtek is so good?
-Yes, he is better than me, but he also trains with penthatletes, and I couldn’t attend those trainings. There You can fight with much older fencers. And when parents said that they will drive me there every thurdsay, then it turned out that I have this brain tumor.
– Well, but when You get out of this You will train again!
-Yes, of course, and I will be three times better than I am now!
– Ok, now tell me to finish up, what are the parts of fencers costume?
-But everything? With details?
-Yes please! We start from the mask, from the top!
-Ok, so there is a mask, and then plastron-this thing you protect your fighting arm with, there inside is a body cord. Then you have a jacket, breeches, socks and shoes. Also You wear a glove on Your armed hand, the other hand is naked. And the cord, it’s attached to left or right hand, depending on which hand you’re fighting with.
-And a sword!
-Yes, should I tell You about it!
-Sure thing!
-I fight with épée, its a longer sword. First there is a handle, and there are two kinds: Belgian and French. The Belgian handle is when You have to grip the handle like if You were making a fist. The French one is a straight stick.
– So like in musketeers?
-Yes. Above the handle there is a bell guard which is kind of a bowl that protect your hand, when fighting. Inside there is also a socket to plug in the body cord. And after that is the blade, and on the top of it is a mushroom like shaped tip. It is where electrical impuls apears when you score a point. Oh and the fencer is plugged to scoring box, but I can’t tell You how this works because I don’t know that.
